Pigments & Ponderings

Palms & Palms I call this one "The good man" as explained below.                                                             I call this sketch "I have graven thee".   Special thanks to my amazing husband for being the model for this drawing! Being one who continually strives to become more like his Savior, I can't think of anyone I would rather have!     God is a Master Wordsmith! Although these two types of "palms" are very different, they are very much the same!  It was fun to discover this ingenious play on words: While reading the following scripture, Doctrine and Covenants 109:76,  I wondered about the significance of Palm branches.         " That our garments may be pure, that we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness, with palms in our hands, and crowns of glory upon our heads, and reap eternal joy for all our sufferings."     I know they waved & covered the ground with palms leaves for the Triumph

Crown Forging 101 I call this watercolor, "Forging Crowns"  After the experience that I share below, I decided I wanted to paint a crown.  This is the only painting I have done so far that I haven't looked at something else to try to paint.  So this is what I came up with and it means so much to me, for several reasons... first off, because of the whole REASON I even became interested in the topic of "crowns" in the first place, and second,   THAT  reason, that experience, launched a whole new journey for me spiritually.                                                     I feel that the Lord was finally able to get through to me in a way that He could teach me HOW to actually ENJOY learning from the scriptures.  If you have read my 1st post, you'll know what a struggle I used to have in reading/learning.  But now it was like the Lord was personally guiding me to a new horizon!                    After the following experience I had an intense desire to

 The Why & It's Beginnings Watercolor I call "Hope".  I testify that Hope can ALWAYS be found if we look in the right places!   During a recent Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of which I belong, I had the distinct impression, twice, that I should share the things that I have been learning and my testimony of Christ through my art and ponderings...   The very next day while studying, another impression came as I happened upon this scripture: 3 Nephi 18:24  Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world.  Behold I am the light  which ye shall hold up .      Despite my immense hesitations, I decided it better to be obedient and vulnerable than to ignore promptings! (I have first hand experience that doing so never ends well, haha).        So, here goes... I choose to share the things of Christ that continue to illuminate my path, hoping that by doing so, they will help enlighten your way and bring you, too, a measure
